The Annual Tri-Service Academies Alumni Golf Tournament remains the highlight of the year for Service Academy Alumni golfers and their guests (all services welome!).  This year, the rights to the Gilbert F. Rindahl Trophy will be contested under the normal Shotgun Format, on the Air Force Academy Blue Course, at 0800 on 7 July. Lunch will be served immediately following play around noon.

The Trophy is named in memory of Gilbert F. Rindahl, USNA ’53, an avid golfer and an originator of this golf tournament competition in Colorado.  He was Captain of the Midshipman Swim Team, commissioned in the Air Force and retired in 1973. He was a Past President of the Colorado Chapter of the USNA Alumni Association.

Arrive early as Academy security procedures can change with little notice. You can check the WPSD Facebook page to confirm security needs.

Tournament Rules

  1. Have Fun!!
  1. The Tournament Format is a foursome Scramble. Only the composite score for the Group will be recorded.  Mulligans are allowed on any shot, if purchased prior to the beginning of play.
  1. Men play from White Tees. Ladies play from Forward Tees.  Each player hits a tee shot. The best shot is selected (each player must have three tee shots selected for play during the round), then each player hits from the selected spot and the process is repeated until the first ball is holed. An additional shot may be played if the group is a threesome (two if a twosome); but no mulligans are allowed for these “phantom” shots. If a player holes out at any time, play is completed for that hole.
  1. Only foursomes composed of graduates from the same academy are eligible for the trophy!!
  1. Mulligans are available for purchase at registration!!  $5 each and three for $10.  Limit of six!!
  1. Ties will be decided by a scorecard playoff beginning on Hole #1.
